Just like the storybook heroines, Snow White and Rose Red were lost "in the woods" and were lucky enough to be found by a kind "woodsman," in this case a citizen who called our Animal Control Officers to come and pick them up. We are saddened that they were possible abandoned by their human caregiver at the end of hunting season because they were not good at what they were supposed to do--hunt!--but we do try to give grace to those responsible humans who on occasion do lose their dogs for legitimate reasons. These gals are rough-shod, however, and are sensitive to touch and human contact. That might be because their skin is a mess--truly, both gals are in the same sad infected condition and it's hard to be civil and enjoy touch when your skin hurts! We look forward to getting to know them better!
