We adopted Smaug in April 2023 from a stray cat rescue and he is now almost 2 years old (in June). He is a gentle cat who loves lots of pets (he will flop in front of you) and lots of active play. He spends most of the day out on our tiny enclosed catio and loves watching nature.
He can be a little standoffish and skittish but doesn't bite or scratch if he's not happy. He prefers to graze at food (while the other cat in our house scarfs down any and all food) and will eat wet or dry.
He is pretty talkative without really knowing what he wants ("I YEARN") but playing or watching the outdoors is a favorite distraction.
We are looking for a home with lots more space than we have (a small townhome) with more stimulation for him. He's hungry here most of the day so any home that can leave food out that he can pick at without worrying about it being stolen by a chonkmonster cat is ideal. He is fine with other cats, if shy at first, but we don't know about dogs.
