Meet Quiton, who comes to us from a small kill shelter in Florida where he was set to be euthanized that very evening at 5pm. He was an owner surrender due to a divorce situation. Quinton does have a bite history with a UPS Driver. He is a 3-year-old, 99.5 lb., Great Dane (30lbs underweight). He is neutered, fully vetted, heartworm negative, up to date on shots with rabies, Bordetella and is also microchipped. Quinton is extremely treat-motivated, knows his commands and immediately does them when prompted. With his person he is like a docile little puppy or kitten. He is crate trained, housebroken and gets along with all female dogs but is weary of males. He also does great riding in vehicles.
*Quinton will ONLY be available to an adopter with Great Dane experience and with no children. He is VERY protective over his person. He bonded during the 7ish hour trip with the transporters and was protective over them when handed off. Then he bonded within hours to his foster mom and went after the vet and vet tech during his vet visit the following day. They all felt it was due to him being protective and not just randomly trying to bite due to being mean. He gets in between his person and others and sits down on their feet and positions himself at all times between his person and strangers to the point of standing on your feet.
With that being said he is the sweetest, most loving and insecure boy. Once scolded, he is submissive. He has separation issues at times. He crates well and is generally perfect. If you are interested in this boy, please send us your email address to obtain an Adoption Application.
