My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Ben! I'm a sweet, year old Lionhead boy who was brought to the shelter with my friend, Jerry. We aren't really a pair though, in fact - I bit Jerry's nose! I'm much nicer with lady bunnies, though, and I think I might be happy to have a spayed girlfriend. Perhaps you might know of one to introduce me to?!

I have lovely caramel colored fur and I am a little shy, but I warm up fast. I don't mind being held too much, and I do like to explore and play with my toys. I especially like cardboard boxes and ripping up phone books.

I don't know how anyone could resist my face and my cute little mane of fur around my head. My "muttonchops" kinda' make me look like Abe Lincoln! I really am a doll! I have been neutered and am pretty good in my litter box, too.

So how about it? Wouldn't you like to have me for your very own bunny?

If you are interested in obtaining a rabbit for a companion, please do lots of research. We recommend the information from The House Rabbit Society (www.rabbit.org) or the "Morfz" site (http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabcare.html).

The adoption fee is $50 which includes the spay/neuter fee and a new rabbit kit. All of our rabbits have received full vet check ups. We prefer to adopt to indoor, adult-only homes. We do not adopt rabbits as pets for small children. However, rabbits are wonderful house pets for adults! We consider homes with older children, dogs or ferrets on a case-by-case basis.

If you are over 21 and have the time, energy, love and financial resources to care for a rabbit (not to mention a good sense of humor!) we would be happy to talk to you about adopting one of our fabulous foster bunnies!

If you are interested in adopting a bunny from us please email us at huntsvillebunnies@gmail.com. Please include your phone number so that we may contact you about the adoption.

Please note we are a little picky – we love these bunnies and since they have already been through the shelter once we want to make sure they have a great home the second time around! We do screen applicants carefully, as well as require a home visit.
