Whisper was rescued from under a trailer in Tioga County, PA! Whisper was pretty feral (wild) as a kitten when we first caught her but after some socialization and time spent in a rescue setting, she has come a LOOOOOONG way. She is now an adult cat and, although she still tends to be standoffish and shy, we are proud of how far she has come. Whisper is a very unique, sensitive soul. We know that the right person will see her for who she is and will appreciate her. The key to her heart has been wet food mixed with pets. Whisper is willing to allow people to touch her but she is most comfortable on her own terms and it is best to let her come to you while you are sitting on the ground with her. A patient and experienced adopter would be best for her. (Experience with feral or semi-feral cats is a definite plus but not necessarily required as long as you are committed and patient.) Whisper tends to be active and playful! She likes to play with a wand toy and this is a good way to interact with her for starters. She is great with other cats and kittens and she would make a great little companion for another kitten or cat! We are REQUIRING that Whisper be adopted to a home with another feline companion. Whisper has been introduced to a large, cat-friendly dog (German Shepherd) while in our care and she did ok although she was definitely wary and puffed herself up quite a bit! Probably only calm dogs for this young lady but we do think she'd do fine once she had an appropriate amount of time to adjust to a dog! Whisper also needs to go to a CALM home and we are not recommending young children due to that. Whisper has been spayed, is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, FIV/FeLV/HW tested negative, and microchipped! She is ready for adoption NOW!!! We are a small, nonprofit 501c3 rescue that has the goal to home and re-home at-risk cats as well as provide TNR and Spay and Neuter Assistance to individuals who can’t afford it. We work with other animal rescue groups to prevent cruelty and neglect to animals and to assure lifetime safe and secure homes to at-risk animals, primarily cats.
