My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zucchini is a sweet, quirky cat who has made steady progress at Pasado’s, taking over a year to feel comfortable with people. With patience and gentle handling, he’s learned to enjoy affection—on his own terms. He’ll do best in a calm, understanding home where trust can grow at his pace.

Though toys overwhelm him, he adores Churu treats, and he gets along well with other cats. With the right person, Zucchini can continue to blossom and finally settle into a loving forever home.

More about this rescue

Pasado’s Safe Haven was founded in 1997 in honor of “Pasado“, a beloved donkey who was tortured to death by three teenage boys. Located on 85 acres in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, we are a non-profit on a mission to end animal cruelty.

In addition to investigating animal cruelty crimes and providing sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect, we also advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal suffering. Through our uniquely comprehensive programs, we are able to help thousands of animals every year and spread a message of compassion to countless people.
