Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rocket is a handsome 2-year-old boy from Bed-Stuy who has blossomed from a shy kitten into a sensitive, quirky companion. While he once eagerly followed his person from room to room, Rocket has recently become more introverted and is still learning to feel fully safe and confident in his world. Because of this, he’s looking for a very patient and understanding human who will give him the time and space he needs to continue building trust at his own pace.
Rocket thrives in a calm environment with someone who understands cat socialization—or is willing to learn. He’s a gentle soul who bonds deeply, and when he feels secure, his sweet personality shines. He may show affection in subtle ways, like staying nearby or offering soft, gentle love nibbles as a sign of trust. While he can still be reserved with extended petting, he fills a home with quiet companionship and warmth.
One of Rocket’s biggest strengths? He does wonderfully with other cats. He gets along beautifully with his foster feline sibling and would truly benefit from a confident, friendly cat companion to help him feel safe and continue growing. A home with another cat is a huge plus for this shy boy.
Rocket still has his playful side—he loves chasing his catch-and-chase toys (even if his coordination isn’t always perfect, which only adds to his charm!). He’s also proudly food-motivated and will happily announce mealtime with enthusiastic purrs. And of course, he remains a champion napper, often curled up in the coziest spot he can find.
Rocket is neutered, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, and treated for fleas—ready for a forever home that will meet him with patience, compassion, and love.
If you believe that trust is earned slowly and that the most meaningful bonds take time, Rocket may be your perfect match.

Our cats are almost all in foster homes. Upon approval of your application (including reference check), we will connect you with the foster parent(s) so that you can meet the kitty you're interested in. If it's a good fit, we'll do a home check for safety issues, and then process the paperwork so that you can officially adopt your new family member!

More about this rescue
We are a network of rescuers in Central Brooklyn (primarily in Bed Stuy, Ocean Hill, and Crown Heights) who help each other out. We do both TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) as well as the rescue and adoption of friendly cats and kittens that we find on the streets. We don't have a physical facility, so our cats are usually in foster homes, or staying with us in our own homes. Our goal is to find loving, permanent homes for all the cats we take off the street, and to make better lives for the ones we return there.
