My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOLLYWOOD HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Hollywood is a special, innocent, lovable, kind, happy, sweet and clumsy, two-old, 40-pound, male, hound/lab-mix looking for a loving home. Hollywood is very charming, fun and sweet, but if you hold a treat out for him … he has a hard time finding it. He has some motor and sensory issues, but he absolutely loves everyone … people, dogs and cats! He is such a happy boy who would love a home with another dog … and hopefully a fenced in yard to run and play. He sometimes runs in circles, so he’s probably best with older children as his coordination is not perfect. It is suspected that Hollywood survived distemper as a puppy. He now has what appears to be cerebellar hypoplasia, a non-degenerative condition which does not worsen or improve with age. It just leaves him with poor balance and clumsiness. His has a stiff gait, but his general health is un-affected. There is no cure or treatment for cerebellar hypoplasia, so no medication or additional vet visits would be required. Hollywood leads a normal dog life with somewhat poorer sense of balance and coordination. His foster mom has enrolled him in doggie playgroup, so he can get socialized to new situations. He also is participating in training classes to boost his confidence and coordination. He doesn’t need a ton of exercise; an hour walk makes him happy, and actually exhausts him. Hollywood is looking for a patient and understanding dog-lover who will give him the time he needs to adjust to a new situation. He is a little shy and awkward at first, but given a week in a new home he settles in just fine and is a total love. Hollywood is crate-trained and doing really well on his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. To meet and possibly adopt him, please contact his foster mom Samantha at palsplace1@hotmail.com or 773-615-9864. His adoption fee of $150 benefits the rescued dogs of Pal’s Place. Hollywood is healthy, neutered, de-wormed, heartworm-tested, up-to-date on vaccines, and micro-chipped.
Hollywood's adoption donation is $150. This donation helps to cover his neuter, initial vaccines, initial worming and microchip. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the pets in our care. Your donation also helps save other animals like Hollywood from euthanasia.
