My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola is a 5 year old black female with cropped and standing ears who is a true sweetheart. She's a beautiful, affectionate girl who is good with kids, has met cats and seems unperturbed, and can live with younger male dogs. She is enjoying playing with a young foster sister but does not appreciate being reprimanded by a grumpy older male dane in the household. Lola is calm, loving and sweet. Lola loves children and lived with a 6 year old girl who crawled all over her. She was very well cared for and is up to date on shots and heartworm negative. Lola loves people, men and women and is so happy to see anyone that her tail goes a mile a minute. She loves car rides and is wonderful in the car. She is well-behaved and has free run of the house while the family is away. Lola requires a 5 foot fence.
Update 9/4/10 - Lola has been in her foster home for several weeks now. She enjoys playing with her younger foster sister (a 1 1/2 year old dane) but will get snarky with her grumpy brother. Lola plays roughly but has a great time and is very energetic! When the foster mother scolded her other dane for knocking over a lamp, Lola ran and disappeared into her crate, so it seems that she’s been harshly reprimanded in the past. Lola listens well and is quick to lean in for pets and love from her people. She’s affectionate and follows her foster mom everywhere. Lola requires a 5 foot privacy fence as she is reactive to strange dogs when she’s outside. She would do well with a playful companion who will let her be queen bee in the house.
Update: 10/13/10 - Lola loves her foster home and gets along well with her foster brothers and sisters (2 older boxers, an 8 year old German shepherd, a 7 year old male dane and a 19 month old female dane). Lola loves to run and play outside with her dane sister. They'll also play in the house until mom puts her foot down! Lola is not quite as fond of her grumpy dane brother, who wants nothing to do with playing. She is great with all children - she came from a family with a 6 year old girl who was Lola's best friend. The 6 year old used to snuggle up to Lola and slept with her. Lola is house and crate trained and is learning to walk better on leash. She loves people of all kinds and can't wait to meet and greet new people! She also loves stuffies, especially the squeaky ones, and wants to play with them all of the time. Lola loves to chase birds and rabbits. Lola is great in the house - she doesn't counter surf. She waits for her food, and really loves peanut butter, bananas and apples plus any kind of treats! If you're looking for a dog that can play and run, yet has all of the manners of a mature dane, Lola's the girl for you! She listens well and is good with other large/medium dogs as long as she is introduced slowly.
