Meet Lian💞
💙 Adogs Center Updates: @_adogs_
1⃣ Health Condition
* Neutered.
* Microchipped and completely recovered from heartworm.
2⃣ Rescue Story
* Lian was a stray dog before entering the Jeonju City Shelter. Unfortunately, the shelter closed down, leaving him and his companion, #AdogsRiel #어독스리엘 at risk of euthanasia. With time running out, Adogs stepped in to rescue them both.
3⃣ Basic Information
* With People: Is scared of strangers. Tries to flee when he sees them and freezes when he faces them. It takes a lot of time for Lian to open up but once he does, he sometimes wags his tail to say hello first and allows pets. When his guardians try to touch him first, he usually gets a little surprised and flinches. However, when they come back home, he runs and welcomes them!
* With Dogs: Doesn’t approach first. If other dogs approach him, he avoids them or growls at them defensively at times. He’s become comfortable with his foster sibling and doesn’t growl at them, but acts indifferently rather than playing with them.
* Separation Anxiety: Tends to stay alone very well without anxiety! Has recently bonded with his foster parent, so he whines and looks for them at times when they are out of sight for a while such taking a shower after work or going out to dispose trash.
* Potty Training: Was well trained with potty pads. However, at his new foster home, puts only hind legs on the pads while peeing, so pee often leaks out of the pads. Has a tendency to pee all at once after holding it probably because the foster home is still new to him. Received potty training again with a fence installed around the pads, but it was counterproductive. Is getting retraining after removed the fence. The pad success rate is about 50%. Tries to mark in new places.
* Walks: Is scared of walks so he’s being taken outside while being held. Has become comfortable with collars and harnesses, and walks well on leash indoors. However, when the leash is pulled, he gets scared and tries to hide. Is a skittish dog so he’s being trained slowly.
* Hygiene: Is scared of baths. Is good with brushing but is scared of the dryer so he’s being dried with a towel. Sometimes tries to pull back his paw during nail trims, but is otherwise docile.
* Car Sickness: Recently traveled in a kennel in a taxi. Shivered out of nervousness at first but got better after a while. Does not have any symptoms of motion sickness.
* Biting: When another dog is bothering him, may nip in defense but it usually just ends in growling rather than escalating. Recently, bit his foster parent’s friend in defense after being touched, perhaps in an uncomfortable place. The reason isn’t clear and more observation is needed.
* Dislikes: Has become desensitized to loud noises at home. However, has a fearful personality so he gets surprised by sudden noises and loud movements. When being forced to do something, he may avoid being touched or hide in a corner for a few days. It’s important to introduce new things to him slowly.
