My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Honey is a very high-energy girl with a strong prey drive, but once all the excitement settles down, she’s as sweet and loving as can be. She would do best as the only pet in the home, as she doesn’t do well with other dogs or cats.

Honey does have a cloudy right eye, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She loves a good game of chase and will happily go after any toy you throw her way! She knows her basic commands like sit and shake, and she’s always eager to show them off.

Stuffed toys don’t stand much of a chance with her since shredding them is her favorite pastime, but she’ll have a blast doing it. She does pull on the leash with her excitement, but with consistent training, she’s improving every day.

Honey would thrive in an active home where she can run, play, and then snuggle up once she’s had her fun.

New Hope Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization servicing Volusia County Florida since 1955.
Our policy is no-kill. We will NOT euthanize an animal to make room or to reduce pet overpopulation. “adoptable” means an animal is healthy and well-adjusted, not ill or injured, and can be safely made available to the public for adoption. We reserve the right to refuse admission due to space availability, or if the animal is dangerous, in poor health, or otherwise deemed un-adoptable.
