We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult, we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

Bridget came into rescue with burns covering her back and nursing five healthy puppies. She has recovered from her burns, and despite her mistreatment earlier in her life, she is a wonderful dog. She gets along with most other dogs and likes living with cats. Bridget is extremely calm in the house and loves to get petted and loved for awhile and then will curl up in a dog bed or on the couch. Bridget loves to spend time roaming around the fenced backyard. She has a very easy going, mellow personality. She sleeps right through the night on her dog bed and is 100% potty trained--she has never had an accident in the house. Being a bloodhound, she is surprisingly quiet and has a soft howl. Bridget does not bark while inside and will normally only bark outside if she sees something out of the ordinary or people outside of the fence that she'd like to play with. She is completely trustworthy being left with free roam of the house when no one is home. Bridget prefers to sleep at night on her dog bed next to her people's bed. After about 9pm, she will actually walk upstairs and go to bed on her own!!!!!!!! She is a sweet dog who loves to curl up on the couch or lay quietly next to you when you are on the computer. Bridget is looking for an adult only home or a home with teenage kids. She is very loving and enjoys getting attention and going for walks. In her previous home, she absolutely loved going to the dog park. A fenced yard and previous dog experience is required for Bridget. She is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Her $200 adoption fee is to help offset her veterinary care including treatment for her injuries, spay, full dental, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, and HomeAgain microchip..
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. THESE CRITERIA ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE FOR ALL APPLICANTS. If you do not meet the criteria for this dog, PLEASE do not apply. Due to the volume of emails we receive, we do not answer those in which the applicant doesn’t match the listed criteria.
