My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I’m Gaby, a beautiful light calico with lots of white and just the right amount of sass. I may have started my journey outdoors in Chicago, but I’m friendly, curious, and very ready to settle into a cozy forever home. Think of me as a “pet me, admire me, adore me” kind of girl.
I’m undeniably cute and carry myself like the princess I am. I enjoy affection—on my terms—and I’ll happily soak up pets when the mood strikes. I’m great at communicating, so as long as you listen to my cues, we’ll get along just fine. Want to really win my heart? Treats. I love treats and will gladly accept them as tokens of devotion.
I’m an independent lady who would do best with a cat-savvy human who appreciates a confident, self-assured companion. I prefer being the one and only, so a calm home without young kids, other cats, or dogs would be ideal for me. When it’s playtime, though, watch out—my favorite mouse-on-a-string toy brings out my fun, playful side, and I could chase it for ages!
If you’re looking for a charming, spirited companion to spoil and adore, I might just be your girl. Come meet me and see if you’re ready for a little princess energy in your life—I promise I’m worth it. 🐾

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
