My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello world! My name is Rita, and I am hoping and praying that Love-A-Bull can find me my fur-ever home.
I was brought to the rescue in the back of a pick up truck in over 100 degree weather with my 2 brothers, Tank and Buster. We almost died due to heat exhaustion! Thank goodness my foster mommy rushed me to the vet and they cooled me down and took good care of me.
The first thing the rescuers noticed is how girly and sweet I am! You couldn’t help but fall in love with me! My chunky body wiggles when I see people, and I just want someone to love me!
Chunky is a great way to describe my body type, so I am officially on a diet consisting of premium food and daily walks! What can I say? I love to eat! Since I am on the bigger side, I struggle getting up from my long naps because I have a touch of arthritis in my legs. Weight loss will be the key to my health!
I am a lazy gal, I love male dogs and kids over 8 are fine also! I just prefer a calmer home, since I seem to get nervous and stressed out easily. I will not be placed with a young dog or young kids. I prefer a quieter environment.
I am also in great health besides my weight.
One of my favorite things to do is talk to you! I love when you sing or talk in a baby voice to me, then I throw my head in the air and talk back to you! My brother Tank thinks I am crazy and he just walks away. Speaking of my brother Tank, him and I have been together for a long time, and rescue will only adopt us out as a pair. No exceptions! He really depends on me to show him the way since I am his big sister. We are 2 peas in a pod! If we could find a home where there are no other pets, just us, we would be the luckiest bullies in the world.
I am up to date on shots, microchipped and spayed.
Our adoption donation to rescue is $550 and we are ready to start the rest of our lives.
Please note, my foster home will be choosing the best home for me! Be sure to read our adoption process and requirements, and don’t forget to submit your application.

You MUST fill out an application if you want to be considered for my home. NO inquiries will be returned without an application on file. We DO NOT adopt outside of Arizona, and we do not adopt to homes with more than 2 dogs.

*WHY ARE SOME DOG’S ADOPTION FEES HIGHER THAN OTHERS?
The adoption donation fees are based on age, health and needed vet care of the dogs we have taken in. The younger, healthier dogs help to pay for their cousins that need a little more TLC. You adoption donation fee also covers the cost of the spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip of your new dog.
*CAN WE COME SEE YOUR DOGS?
All of our dogs are in foster homes around the Phoenix area. We require an application to be filled out, a home check to be done, and vet reference check to be complete before having you come meet the dog of your dreams! We will ONLY contact you when we have a potential match.
*I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL DOGS WHO I THINK WOULD FIT MY HOME, BUT THEY ARE NOW ADOPTED. WHY?
We take a lot of time to get to know our dogs in rescue. Some are barkers, which cannot go into condos or apartments, some require companionship of other dogs, and some are not good with children. Each dog is unique!
*IS THERE A WAITING LIST OF APPROVED APPLICANTS?
YES! That is why even if you are not ready to adopt, get your application into us if you want to be considered for a future adoption.
*I AM LOOKING FOR A PUPPY OR VERY YOUNG BULLDOG.
Well, you have come to the wrong place. Rescue dogs on average are between 3 and 7 years old, we do not get puppies into rescue. We would, however, be able to refer you to a reputable breeder.
*BULLDOGS ARE SO EXPENSIVE! WHY?
If you are looking for a cheap bulldog by choosing rescue, need not apply! Rescue dogs are dogs that are going to need ongoing vet care, and a lot of love and training from their new humans. We only adopt to homes that truly want to RESCUE a homeless bulldog. This is not the place to find a “cheaper” bulldog.
*I HAVE AN APPLICATION ON FILE, AND HAVE CALLED A FEW TIMES, WITH NO RESPONSE.
We will contact you when we believe we have a dog that is a match.
Please remember: Not only are bulldogs adorable and cute, they are also high-maintenance and expensive! ☺
