Hi there, I am Cosmic Brownie. Yes, sigh. My foster parents call me Brownie. They say I am a sweet, little (23 pounds and low riding) boy. I have gotten better on my trust of people. When my foster parents get home, I am all waggy tail or I like to come up to them to get attention or to be petted for as long as they are willing. I will get on the couch now once in a while and sit by them, and even give little kisses.
I am pretty quiet for the most part, until I see those pesky squirrels, and I let them have it. I have a couple of toys I will chase around or like to just sit and make squeak. When I go outside, I always have to carry a toy out with me. I can still get my groove on (see my video). I would love people food, and try to counter surf, but am too short to get my nose up there. I do love a kong filled with peanut butter or a treat ball to roll around.
I walk pretty well for a beagle, need to stop and smell of course. I also ride really well in the car; I just lay on the back seat. I am crated while everyone is at work, and no problems. I am also just gated in the kitchen for shorter periods and I do well also. At night I sleep on a doggy bed or on the couch and I sleep through the night. Foster dad loves that.
I do need a fenced yard as I like to run around, and when I need to have a bowel movement I am all over the yard until I go. I have only been around a 4-year-old child but did well with him. However, I do not live with children.
My foster parents think I might have been an outside dog. I seem much happier, when outside versus in, and I love to lay out in the yard. I have learned to love the dog pillow and bed though!!! Which I am pretty much housetrained. I will go to the door, or if you see me get antsy, take me out. You do have to keep on eye on me as I still have moments where I want to go before getting outside. A home where someone is around at least part time, might be best so I don’t have to hold it all day long.
If you think I’m the right boy for you, please contact your Midwest BREW adoption counselor.
NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
