My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maggie is a beautiful liver and white spayed 7 year old female that is looking for a forever home. She cocks her head when you talk to her and gives you the most appealing look as if she understands every word. She always wants to be at your side and I usually have both dogs and the cat where ever I am in the house always ready to move when I do.

Maggie is playful and loves to play tag around the dining room table. She loves to play fight and growls and play bites which sounds fierce but it is all in fun. She is a homebody and would rather be inside than outside unless she has human company. She is always up for a walk or a ride in the car. She is 43 lb but should be 36 pounds and we are working on that.
.
Maggie arrived at her foster MOMs a week after her owner was found dead. She had died four days before and Maggie was without food or water for half a week. No one in the family could add another dog so they contacted ABR to help her find a new home. Her first few days were quite an adjustment and she cried not knowing quite what had happened to her world.

Maggie was quite spoiled for food and is still 5-10 lbs over weight. She is in good health and active except for an itchy back which she is currently taking one tablet of Cortalone every 3rd day and that may be adding to her being somewhat overweight.

Maggie is a quick learner and was already, friendly to people and dogs, housebroken, crate trained, and sits nicely to have her leash fastened. She does everything that is asked of her. She does bark in excitement when visitors come but quiets down in a minute or so. Maggie's owner must have fed her from her plate, but now she respects that she doesn't eat or beg when people are eating. She also had to learn that she didn't get to grab her foster sisters food and not to bother the cat, but now all is peaceful. History - Maggie's owner passed away unexpectedly and she was surrendered to ABR. She is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative.
