My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jett is a 5 year old (born about 4/30/2020) big tuxedo boy (about 16 pounds) with beautiful green eyes who is looking for a fresh start. For his first four and a half years, he was in a loving home but unfortunately about six months ago, his life changed drastically after his owner came upon hard times, became homeless, and unfortunately ended her life. After that, he was moved to a place where he was kept in a laundry room due to allergies in the home and he became extremely skittish and scared. Fortunately, a friend realized his predicament and reached out to some cat loving people about a month ago who were willing to give him time and space to feel safe. With his foster parents’ loving care, he has blossomed since then and although he is still scared by loud noises and quick actions, he is like a completely different cat just waiting to bring joy to his new family.

Jett enjoys being brushed and if you have a blanket on your lap, he will happily sit on it with you to enjoy a good movie or just hang out with you. He will let you know when he wants attention and when he’s comfortable, you will get to hear his great purr. Jett will do best in a quiet home that isn’t too active. As long as visitors are relaxed and not loud, he will be happy to come say hi and get a few scratches from them. He will do best in a home with adults only or older children. He is terrified of dogs due to past experiences but seems okay with other cats but is just getting to know the cats in his foster home. He is good with having his nails trimmed and he will enjoy having a good scratching post.

It seems likely that Jett would enjoy sleeping with his new family member if he is allowed. He’s not a huge fan of being picked up as he doesn’t seem to understand it and becomes very wiggly. He is slowly learning to be playful and so far, some favorite toys are string toys. Now that he knows he is in a safe, loving home, he has become a big love bug and loves to headbutt your legs and hands and anything else he has access to. Since he’s a big boy, his headbutts have some weight behind them.

Jett has a lot of good years ahead of him and is waiting for you to ask about him!
