Meet Joey 💛
Joey didn’t grow up knowing the comforts of home. Left to survive on his own for years, he learned to be cautious — and for good reason. But Joey is proving that even after a hard start, growth is possible.
In the last few months, we’ve watched him begin to open up. He’s curiously interested in people now, choosing to come closer, allowing gentle pets, and showing us that he wants to connect — he just needs a little time.
Joey is around 35–40 lbs and estimated to be 6–8 years old. He finds confidence in other dogs and would do best with a calm, steady canine companion to help show him the ropes.
Recently, Joey began an in-home board and train program where he’s gaining real experience living inside a home — learning routines, building trust, and discovering what it means to relax in a safe environment. We are so excited for this next chapter for him.
But here’s what Joey will need next:
When his training is complete, he will need a foster home to continue that progress. We do not want him returning to traditional boarding after he’s worked so hard to adjust to home life.
Joey needs a patient, understanding foster willing to give him time, space, and consistency. A secure fenced yard would be ideal, and a confident resident dog would be a huge bonus.
This sweet boy has already come so far. Now he just needs someone willing to help him keep going.
Could you be the soft landing Joey is waiting for? 💛
If you’d like, I can:
Make a shorter “urgent foster needed” version
Make it more emotionally compelling
Or make it more practical/clear about what fostering Joey would look like day-to-day.
