My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nanuk and Tatanka are a courtesy listing and being placed by their owner for personal reasons as well as an allergy. Snow Dog Rescue is listing these to gorgeous dogs in hopes of finding them the home they so rightfully deserve.

Meet Tatanka! Tatanka is approx. 6 and 1/2 yrs old. He is gorgeous big ol' teddy bear of a Siberian Husky. Tatanka is purebred, red and white with blue eyes. Perfect patrotic colors for the up coming holiday! Tatanka is neutered, up to date on shots and housetrained / potty trained. Tatanka is a larger sized boy, not overweight just a nice thick husky build. He is not very agile and does not run fast, basically because of his build but he is an active boy that loves to play. Tatanka is very friendly and loves to sit right in front of you, and push his nose under your hand to signal that he wants a rubs and pets. Tantaka is also great with children, cats and other dogs. Tatanka is terrific with other dogs, and actually has a buddy that is in need home a home as well (13 yr old gray and white blue eyed female husky named Nanuk. Bio shown on www.snowdogrescue.com). Tatanka and Nanuk would love to be adopted together but can also be adopted individually for the right home. Both dogs are eagerly looking for a home that can give them love and attention. Both huskies would make excellent family dogs and therapy dogs. They have sweet and adoring personalities, that want nothing more then to be loved and give love. If interested in meeting Tatanka, or perhaps the pair of both Tatanka and Nanuk please complete the application on www.snowdogrescue.com and email to andrea@snowdogrescue.com. Nanuk and Tatanka are currently living at their home in West Hills, Southern California until adopted. Tatanka can't wait to hear from you!

Huskies make great family pals, and love the companionship of other canines medium to xlarge size. They are a pack animal and consider there humans part of their pack. Because of this they truly enjoy being with there humans and canine friends. They are a fun, happy and active breed that promises to make you laugh and keep you smiling. As with any canines they need love and attention to be happy. This breed was born to run, and can be an escape artist easily scaling 6ft fences or finding the one weak spot in your yard. The Siberian Husky can NEVER be trusted off leash or in an ungated area for this reason. Many Huskies are hit by cars, stolen for their beauty, or lost and never returned. Please keep your Siberian Husky leashed and safe, and add needed locks to gates. They’re counting on you! Please read up on the breed to educate yourself, or contact rescue for advice on your new canine friend AFT E R adopting. Rescue volunteers will always be there to help you! Please note when adopting a Husky from the shelter – this breed is not cat friendly. If you have a cat please make sure it IS cat friendly.
