Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue
Meow meet Molly! She has the kind of eyes that tell a whole story. This beautiful senior girl is a large brown tabby with a soft white chest and delicate white paws, as if she stepped gently through fresh snow. Her big soulful eyes watch the world carefully now - not because she isn’t loving, but because her world changed in a way she never expected. She spent her entire life devoted to one person - her person - until that person had to move into a nursing home. Suddenly, everything familiar disappeared. The quiet routines, the favorite chair, the steady companionship. Rescue life has been stressful and overwhelming for Molly. The sounds, the smells, the constant change - it’s simply too much for a gentle heart who only ever knew one home. She is not difficult. She is not unfriendly. She is grieving. She needs a calm, quiet home where she can finally exhale. An adult only household with no other cats, dogs, and no young children. She wants to be your one and only - not because she is demanding, but because she feels safest when her world is small and predictable. She does not liked to be picked up. Being lifted makes her feel frightened and insecure, and she WILL let you know she prefers all four paws safely on the ground. But when you sit beside her, when you offer your hand gently and patiently, she melts. She leans into pets. She closes her eyes. she remembers what it feels like to trust. She is affectionate in the quietest, purest way - the kind of love that grows slowly and then roots itself deeply. In a peaceful home, with someone willing to give her the space and time she needs to settle, she will blossom. She does have inflammatory bowel disease, which is carefully managed with a special diet and medication. The rescue will guide her adopter through what is needed to keep her healthy. With consistency and low stress, she does well. What she truly needs most is love. She is big girl with an even bigger heart. She doesn’t need excitement. She doesn’t need chaos. Molly just needs one patient human who understands that love isn’t always instant - sometimes it’s built day by day. In the right home, where the world is gentle and predictable, her love and trust will grow again. And when it does, it will be something truly special!
Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family! Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm. All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Please note that while we work hard to keep our available cats up to date we also have many that are not posted yet. Adoption fees are $60 for adult cats and kittens over 6 months old, $100 for kittens (under 6 months) and $30 for senior cats (7 years+) to help cover vet bills for spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, testing, microchips and preventatives. No cat will be officially adopted without being spayed/neutered and vaccinated (unless there are health risks in doing so). We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs and we do discount for double adoptions here to encourage it.
