Looking for a high-energy companion who’s always ready to go, go, go? Meet Grayson, a playful and intelligent Lab mix with a zest for life. Grayson is a fun-loving pup who really comes alive outside. Whether he`s sniffing every corner of the yard, chasing a tossed ball (or squirrel!), or just soaking up the sunshine, this guy loves to be a dog. He`s all about the nose-work, exploration, and staying busy—so he’ll thrive with a family who can keep up with his active lifestyle.
At home, Grayson shows off his good manners—he seems to be house-trained and already knows how to “sit.” He also takes treats very politely (such a gentleman!). While he’s easily distracted (can you blame him with so many smells and sights?), he’s incredibly smart and shows a ton of potential in training. A little consistency and positive reinforcement will go a long way with this clever boy. Grayson would do best with an active adopter who understands the needs of a high-energy dog and is excited about providing daily exercise, mental enrichment, and continued training. All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
