My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie the Riveter is a survivor who needs a loving home.
We worked with Solano Animal Care Services and a Good Samaritan to ensure this fuzzy girl could recover from the trauma of being stuck in a busy intersection in Vacaville. Initially, her paw pads were scuffed, she shied from humans, and took every opportunity to hide; today she follows the lead of her confident cat friends and fights for snuggles into your lap. Since she is shy, we would love to see her go home with a confident adult cat or teenaged kitten; her same-aged foster mates are ‘too much’ for her. She has seen dogs and lived in the same home, but is wary of them; she may be ok with considerate introductions to a home with senior or livestock guardian dogs. Rosie is a teenager’s study buddy, grandpa’s lap warmer, and a sweet princess-can you help her continue to be a strong, independent, young lady?

This foster home raises our orphaned kittens or bottle babies. They have advanced skills and work with fading kittens with the help of our medical team. Their foster kittens are typically ‘bombproof’ with dogs, cats, and kids. They travel back and forth to the vet for special visits, demand constant attention, and are generally social butterflies.

Our Hero Academy students earn a cape after completing basic litter box, nail trimming, scratching post, and carrier training with our expert volunteers. Fosters are microchipped, combo tested for FIV/FELV, spayed/neutered, treated for fleas/parasites, and receive age/wellness appropriate vaccines. We lovingly pack a Welcome Home Hero gift bag with their favorite toys, treats, a comic to read with them, and a blanket that helps them feel safe anywhere they go. Go meet their pets

We provide private in home fostering and do not allow visitors at our homes with an approved application, interview, and confirmed appointment made by the CEO.

We partner with our local, family owned businesses and events, but a majority of our adoptions are done from the comfort of your home.

More about this rescue

We work hard to educate the community about why spaying and neutering is important. We only take cats that are non adoptable in shelters which includes feral, abused, abandoned, and traumatized cats and kittens. We heal them inside and out using positive reinforcement and force free techniques. Last, we provide assistance to low income families to help them fix their pets, provide food to feral cat colony managers, and sponsor adoption fees for those who need a pet and can afford their care but not an additional fee.
