Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT ***
Meet Charley! He is currently in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and he is almost ready to show off his new skills! His new abilities include 'sit', 'wave', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent.
Charley has spent most of his short life in a shelter setting. We're hoping he can get a new home by Christmas! He deserves to be spoiled. He does well playing with other dogs, but we recommend not having toys or bones around. He can get protective of these things. When he plays, he has a loud play grumble. Some dogs can mistake this and not appreciate it. Its best Charley meets any new canine siblings before adoption.
He seems to be ok around cats and leaves them alone. He kennels well when his people are away and he is house trained.
Due to his guarding behavior around his toys and food, Charley is going to be best suited in an adult only home.
Charley goes on a couple mile runs with his handler a couple times a week. He really enjoys them and would make someone an excellent running buddy.
He'll graduate in the beginning of December and deserves a chance at happiness. Apply to meet him today!
