My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet "Bon Appetit" cat, Butterscotch.

Butterscotch, very sweet like her name, has a passion for food tasting and sharing, probably because of her rough start as a helpless kitten, struggling to survive in a busy parking lot.

She survived long enough to be rescued and experience the love of human kindness, but her passion for shared mealtimes still exists. She will be your food guide, connoisseur spirit, and treat taster.

Her forever parent will need the patience to guide her towards healthy choices, enjoy snacking together, and appreciate sharing their lap with her as they enjoy an occasional treat while reading or watching TV.

Her "ideal" parent will appreciate Butterscotch's love for food and ensure she continues to be fed healthy choices. Butterscotch enjoys pets on her shoulders and back, sleeping with and playing her bonded friend, Michaelangelo, and keeps her eyes wide open when anyone is in the kitchen.

Favorite things: mealtime, eating together, gentle back pets and scratches, watching birds through the window, calm environment, napping with Michaelangelo, and keeping watch on the kitchen.

Butterscotch may seem shy, but food helps beckon her extroverted self. She accepts and enjoys pets on her back (she prefers not to have her head touched) and will fearlessly jump into your lap for a treat. She finds comfort being around Michaelangelo. Butterscotch would probably prefer a calm home and is best suited for someone who understands and appreciates shy personalities that blossom with love and understanding. Of course, food works very well for Butterscotch!

Butterscotch is a gentle, loving kitty (approximately 1.7 years old), looking for an experienced cat parent who will help her make healthy food choices and provide her with the patience, safety, and friendship she needs to feel loved.

If her story, special qualities, and pictures capture your heart, please inquire to see how Butterscotch and her friend, Michaelangelo, can be forever yours.

Notes:

Please contact the foster parent directly for questions and a quicker response to your inquiry: kivers@fullerton.edu

Please note that Butterscotch is bonded with Michaelangelo and come as a pair. Total adoption fee for both is $300.

Kitties are spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and chipped. Health records are provided, as are toys, bed/blanket, and current food.

Interested adopters will be asked to complete an application for review and arrange a meet and greet with the kitty at the potential adopter's home. We want to ensure kitties are a good match for the adopter and the home is a good match for the kitty(s).

Adopting a pet is a life-long commitment, through sickness and in health. We consider them family.

Please note that most new pets will need time to adjust and feel comfortable in their new environment. This is natural. Here is information on the 3-3-3 rule:
