Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I`m King & I was surrendered to the shelter because my owner passed away. I`m a little shy at first but once I`m comfortable, I`m the sweetest land hippo you`ll meet! I like going on walks but since I`m a little overweight, I get tired easy. I get along with other dogs & I do well with children. If you think I could be the right fit for you, email shelter@greencountyhumane.org

More about this shelter
The GCHS is comprised of an estimated 500 members, dedicated shelter staff, volunteers, board of directors, and a growing network of foster homes. Due to the commitment of these people, the GCHS has gone from a 62% kill rate in 1999 to a NO-KILL status. Our mission includes:
. Promoting compassionate and appropriate treatment of animals throughout Green and Lafayette Counties.
. Realizing the need to educate the general public in areas of animals' care, especially the need for spaying and neutering of animals to prevent further overpopulation.
. Diligently assisting law enforcement and the general public in the effort to end animal abuse.
. Devoted to the search for quality homes for every adoptable animal that comes into the shelter.
GCHS is dedicated to expanding the knowledge of and protection of animals we share our lives and world with.
