Gerry is a gentle little soul looking for a safe and patient home to call his own. At 2.5 years old, he’s still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place, and he’ll need adopters who can give him time, understanding, and a calm environment to help him blossom.
Because Gerry is very shy and a bit of a flight risk, he’ll need a secure home with another confident dog to show him the ropes and help him feel comfortable. He may take a while to trust, but once he knows he’s safe, his sweet personality starts to shine through.
Gerry has a low-grade heart murmur that doesn’t require medication at this time, though it should be monitored by his future family’s vet. With love, care, and the right canine companion, Gerry has every chance to thrive and become the loyal little friend he’s meant to be.

Border Tails Rescue is a licensed no-kill animal rescue and welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of stray dogs across the world, with a unique focus on Mexico. Border Tails Rescue has a physical shelter facility with dogs on site for viewing everyday. Border Tails Rescue primarily works with rural shelters across the country, including but not limited to TX, AR, AL, LA, KY, IN, and MI on a regular basis as well as CACC, Chicago’s open intake shelter. BTR is Woman-founded by Harleigh Garcia, who was 20 years old at the time.
