My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toyota is a Weimaraner mix puppy whose estimated DOB is 6/1/2025 and on 10/16/2025 he weighed 15 pounds. He will grow to be a large dog. Toyota was found roaming the streets with his siblings, who have all been adopted. He is quite calm for a puppy, yet he does like to play. This sweet little guy loves everyone he meets, plays well with other dogs, absolutely loves to cuddle close, and walks well on a leash! He is really the whole package, ready to go home!
Toyota walked the Red-Carpet at our annual fundraising event "Reigning Cat & Dogs". Look at how handsome he is in his little tuxedo!
Come meet this perfect little pup today and give him a loving home while he is still a little pup!

Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
