Dog Test: (Okay with Dogs) Frankie has been a home with dogs and did good.
Cat Test: (Okay with Cats) Frankie prefers cats that are lower energy.
Kid Test: (No Little Kids) Frankie would be best in a home with older kids.
Litter Box Trained:(Uses Litter Box) Frankie keeps a clean kennel.
Energy Level: (Medium) Frankie is a big, lovable brown tabby with a personality just as large as his frame. This chunky boy is definitely large and in charge! He enjoys exploring the cat rooms at his own pace and occasionally swatting at a toy when the mood strikes. Frankie absolutely loves a good brushing session but can get a little overstimulated—he’ll let you know with a few gentle nibbles. What he’s really looking for is a cozy couch to loaf on or a sunny window to bird-watch from. If you’re searching for a confident, easygoing companion with plenty of charm, Frankie’s your guy!

Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
