My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Falcon is a bright, affectionate, and energetic one-year-old Shepherd and Kelpie mix who's ready to soar into his forever home. Weighing about 55 pounds, Falcon is the perfect combination of brains, athleticism, and love.

Shepherds and Kelpies are working breeds known for their intelligence, stamina, and strong desire to stay busy. Falcon reflects these traits beautifully - he's housetrained, walks well on leash, and is a great candidate for outdoor adventures. Whether it's hiking, camping, or swimming, Falcon is all in and would love a human or family who shares his love for nature and activity.

Falcon is still young and sometimes shows his excitement by jumping up, especially during greetings or playtime. He's much more polite when treats are involved and would benefit from a refresher on basic manners. With structure and consistency, he'll continue to grow into a well-behaved companion.

Training and Support

Falcon will thrive in a home that understands the needs of working-breed mixes and can provide both physical and mental stimulation. He’ll benefit from:

-Daily exercise such as walks, hikes, or active play
-Enrichment activities like puzzle toys and training games
-Continued positive reinforcement training to reinforce polite behaviours

During his initial adjustment, Falcon may be a bit anxious or unsettled, but with patience, routine, and love, he will blossom into a loyal and endlessly fun companion.

Ideal Home

Falcon is looking for a home that offers:
-An active lifestyle with regular outdoor adventures
-A commitment to training and enrichment
-A calm and patient environment to support his transition
-Experience with working breeds or a willingness to learn

Falcon isn’t just a dog — he’s a partner, a trail buddy, a swimming mate, and a snuggly best friend at the end of a long day.

More about this shelter

Want to adopt a pet and give them a forever home? We're thrilled! Our pro-adoption shelter places 200 to 300 dogs and small animals every year with families and homes that best meet the needs of the animals.

We have dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs. While puppies are popular, older dogs can be great pets, too. They are smart and grateful companions that won't leave you with puppy puddles or chewed-up slippers. Why not enrich your life and that of an older dog?

We also adopt out small animals including rabbits, hamsters, birds, rats, guinea pigs, and sometimes reptiles.
