My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ruby
Age: 7 months
Sex: Spayed Female
Breed: Jindo Mix
Color: Beige
Weight: 20 kg | Height: 56 cm

Rescue Story
Ruby was born in Incheon Ganghwa Shelter — one of five siblings (Amber, Mond, Crystal, Pearl ). She’s now ready to start her own story and find her forever family.

Personality & Socialization
Ruby is a little shy at first, but it doesn’t last long! Offer her a treat and she’ll quickly warm up, leaning in for gentle pets and cuddles. She’s affectionate with both men and women, and has lived comfortably in a home with children — she absolutely adores kids . Once she feels close, she’ll show her belly and let you lift her with arms under her tummy.

With Other Dogs
Like with people, Ruby may take a few minutes to get comfortable with new dogs, but she soon plays and socializes well. She’s very gentle — never fights back, even if another dog bothers her. She’s the “walk away, not fight back” type Calm dogs are her favorite playmates, while overly energetic ones can make her a bit nervous.

With Cats
During walks, Ruby notices cats out of curiosity but follows her handler calmly when guided. If a cat comes too close, she’s actually a little scared — a sweet and gentle soul.

Energy & Walks
Ruby has a moderate energy level — she enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but relaxes quietly afterward. She walks nicely on leash but prefers familiar paths and familiar people, especially during her early adjustment period. As she gains confidence, she becomes braver each day

Other Habits
Ruby doesn’t guard food or toys. When left alone, she may whine a little but soon settles down. She’s quiet — rarely barks — and can rest calmly in a kennel after a short moment of fussing. She’s still practicing car rides — she gets nervous and drools a bit, but with gentle training and patience, she’ll improve
She currently does her potty outdoors and is doing great with routine!

Ideal Home
Ruby would be happiest in a calm, loving home with gentle people (and maybe a kind dog friend!). She’s sweet, polite, and endlessly affectionate once she trusts you. She’s ready to blossom into the most loyal companion

Adopt or Foster Ruby and show her how beautiful the world can be.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.
