I’m Tully, and I long to be someone’s heart dog. I’m a 5-year-old, 40# Border Collie with a soft spirit, a curious mind, and a love of life’s quieter joys, especially cuddles. If you start humming “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder as you read about me, don’t worry… that’s my theme song following me around like a charming soundtrack.

My favorite activities are about time with my family: curling up next to you while you work, resting my head on your leg, or melting into a chest scratch. Rope toys are fun to play with and I recently discovered the fun of chew bones! A daily romp in a safely fenced space would make me very happy, especially if there’s room to trot and sniff the breeze.* Another dog in my new home could be my best friend, but I am so people-focused that being an only dog works for me too.

I’m crate-trained (it’s my safe nest) housebroken on a schedule. It’s important you know that I’m working on building my confidence. Loud noises, passing cars, new places, and unfamiliar people startle me. I need time, patience, and gentle reassurance while I learn the world is safe. My main goal is to make my people happy - I rely on them to show me the world in a way that feels safe.

The ideal home for me includes calm, kind people. Maybe a laid-back couple who prefers cozy evenings “in.” Older kids who mesh with my relaxed jam would be ok. Someone that will help me explore in small doses. I’m a smart girl and pick up routines quickly. All I really ask for is love, time, and room in your heart. Every day I get braver and I have to say I’m proud of my progress.

Tully is being fostered in Ames, Iowa.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Tully's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
