My name is Josie!

Josie is a 1.5 year old, 20 pound love bug with a heart as big as her fluffy coat. This adorable little fluff ball will need regular grooming and brushing to keep her looking her best. Josie was surrendered by her previous owner, who could no longer care for her or keep her safe. Before coming into rescue, Josie was hit by a car and needed one of her back legs amputated about six weeks ago, but you’d never know it! She gets around with ease, running and playing like nothing ever happened. She’s resilient and it will not interfere with her living her best life. We believe Josie may be a mix of small Terrier like Westie and a Spitz, giving her a delightful blend of smarts, spunk, energy, and sweetness. She is housebroken and crate trained but also behaves wonderfully when left out during the day. Josie walks nicely on a leash, knows how to sit, and doesn’t jump on people. She loves to snuggle on the couch and is both dog and kid friendly. Josie bonds closely with her people and would thrive in a home with a fenced in yard where she can safely enjoy her time outdoors. She is spayed now, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and ready to find her forever home. Her adoption donation is $400.

We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!!
