Rufus & Jackie – Bonded 11-Year-Old Sibling Duo Looking for a Loving Home
Rufus and Jackie are an inseparable brother-and-sister pair who have spent their entire lives together. At 11 years young, they’re short-haired orange-and-white sweethearts with the kind of calm, affectionate personalities that make a home complete.
Rufus is the outgoing one — a playful lovebug who adores attention, catnip, and laser toys. He’s known for his silly habit of leaning so hard into pets that he nearly topples over. He’ll meow softly to remind you that it’s his turn for affection and reward you with endless purrs and cuddles. Rufus is healthy thanks to a special “SD” diet that keeps his urinary health in check.
Jackie, his sister, is the gentle soul of the pair. She’s a bit shy at first, but once she feels safe, her motor never stops purring. She’s affectionate in quiet ways — content to curl up nearby or keep Rufus company while he plays. Together, they balance each other perfectly.
Both cats are:
- Indoor-only
- Well-behaved and litter box trained
- Good with other cats
- Used to living with a dog (Rufus adapts easily; Jackie just takes a little time)
They’ve never known life apart, and it’s clear their bond gives them comfort and confidence. Rufus and Jackie are looking for a calm, loving home where they can stay together, lounge in sunny spots, and share their gentle, affectionate energy with someone new.
If you’re ready to welcome two deeply loving companions into your life, Rufus and Jackie will fill your days with purrs, playfulness, and quiet joy.
These cats are considered a Courtesy Listing. Jake’s Place offers our services to help other responsible rescue groups or individuals find good homes for cats in need. We have screened and interviewed each of the individuals before agreeing to post their cats.

The volunteers at Jake's Place are diverse group of dedicated animal lovers. Some of us have worked in rescue before, some are new to it. Some of us have known each other for years, others more recently involved. Having all come together in the last few years and finding that we had the same passion to help cats, we started thinking about the possibilities of putting our various expertise to work in creating something wonderful. While Jake's Place is a relatively new organization, our work goes back 14 years and our energy and drive is stronger than ever. We are committed to rescuing responsibly, fostering in loving & caring homes and finding the best possible forever homes.
