My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Ziggy—a 6 to 7-month-old black and white boy with a velveteen coat and a gentle, submissive nature. I weigh 35 pounds, I’m neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I’m a medium-sized pup who’s likely done growing, and yes, I’m easy to carry if needed.

I’m smart and sensitive, and I took to house training quickly. I do great in my crate and sleep through the night like a dream—whether it’s in my crate or curled up in bed beside you. I walk beautifully on a leash, sit for treats and pets, and learn fast. I love to play, but I also know when it’s time to chill. I’ll happily curl up by your feet for some quiet couch time.

I get along with everyone—big dogs, little dogs, cats—and I know how to be gentle with the smaller ones. I haven’t met kids yet, but I’m so sweet and non-aggressive, I think I’d be a great fit. I’m a calm, loving companion who’s just waiting for someone to see how special I am.

I’m in Myrtle Beach, SC, but I can travel to the right home (transport fees may apply). If you’re looking for a gentle soul with a playful streak and a heart full of love, I’m your Ziggy.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable dogs are all in various foster homes and can be met by contacting rescue. Rescue will then provide foster home's contact information. Meet and greets will be arranged between foster and potential adopters. We also have adoption events at Petsmart on various dates which can be checked on our Facebook page, Operation Save a Shelter Dog.

More about this rescue

Our Mission

Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
