Hello there! My name is Tommy. I’m about 8-years-old, weigh 60 lbs. and am an American Bulldog mix with a personality as bright as my gorgeous white coat. Oh, and don’t miss my charming brown left ear—it’s my signature look! Plus, when it’s bath time or I get to splash around in water, you might spot the cutest hidden spots under my coat.
I’m a friendly, loyal boy who lives for people and their attention. My story began in Miami-Dade, Florida, where life was tough—skinny, hungry, and facing a looming big storm. But everything changed in 2020 when the heroes from Operation Save a Shelter Dog came to my rescue. They gave me a second chance, and I’ve embraced it wholeheartedly. Now I’m thriving, healthy, and ready to find my forever home!
I’m not just handsome—I’m smart and well-mannered too! I know basic commands, walk politely on a leash, and I’m both housebroken and crate trained. Treats are my kryptonite (in the best way), which makes me super easy to train and eager to earn praise for being the good boy that I am.
That said, I’ve got my quirks. I’ve had some rough experiences with other animals, which can make me reactive around dogs. I’ve made progress, but I still need slow, patient introductions to build trust. Because of my strong prey drive, I wouldn’t be a fit for a home with cats, small dogs, or other critters. And hey, I like to feel safe when eating, so I need to be fed meals in my crate where I won’t react if I think my food will be taken away. I promise I’m just fine sharing treats, though!
I adore older kids who can match my playful and goofy energy—it’s always fun to tumble around and make memories. I’d thrive with an experienced and confident handler who enjoys practicing training with me to help boost my confidence even further.
Here’s the great news: I’m fully up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, and in excellent health. I’m currently being fostered in Hampton, VA, but don’t worry—if you’re out of state, I can be transported to the perfect home (transport fees apply). You must be 21 or older to apply.
