My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pennington County Humane Society

Jet is a tiny dog with a mighty heart—a velcro Chihuahua mix who's been the loyal shadow of his person for the past six years. At just 8 years old and under 20 pounds, Jet is the definition of a lap dog... but don't let his size fool you. He's got big feelings, big opinions, and a big love for squeaky toys, plushies, and curling up under a blanket with his favorite humans.

Jet is reported to be housetrained, vaccinated, and knows basic commands like 'sit,' 'drop it,' and 'treat.' He walks well on leash and does great at the vet and groomer. His ideal home? One where he can be the center of attention, sleep under the covers, and get plenty of playtime and cuddles.

Jet does have some protective tendencies around other dogs—he barks and pulls on leash when they get too close—but he's never shown aggression and got along well with the cat in his previous home. He's grieving the loss of his longtime canine companion and may do best as a solo dog or with a mellow, respectful friend.

He's afraid of storms (his go-to hiding spot is behind the toilet), and he has a quirky habit of eating his kibble off the floor instead of from the bowl—something he picked up from his late brother. But these little quirks only make him more endearing.

Jet is looking for a home that understands small dog syndrome, celebrates his goofy side, and will love him fiercely through every thunderstorm and tail-wagging moment.
