Meet King Duke, a shy yet brave soul residing in a shelter. He`s a mellow, gentle companion who loves to cuddle once he gets to know and trust you and explore quietly. His curious nature makes him an excellent walking buddy, as he`s already leash trained. We don`t know yet if he is house trained. Though initially wary and a bit nervous, King Duke`s affectionate side shines through once he feels secure. He might even force his 61-pound body onto your lap for some snuggle time. His bravery and gentle demeanor make him a wonderful pet for those who appreciate a calm, loving friend. We haven`t seen him interact with children but he really lights up when he sees his canine neighbors at the shelter - especially the pretty female ones! CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021.
