My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winston is an energetic, loving boy who absolutely adores attention! He’s quite the talker and will happily vocalize when he’s looking for pets or affection. While he can get a little nervous around loud noises, a bit of reassurance goes a long way in helping him feel safe.

Winston may have a possible chicken allergy, so we recommend keeping him on a chicken-free diet. He’s a total lap lover who soaks up every bit of affection that comes his way. Playtime is his favorite—whether it’s chasing a ball, tossing around stuffies, or running around with you!

He’s a bit shy with other pups, so we suggest a meet-and-greet to ensure he’s comfortable. Winston doesn’t seem to mind kitties at all. On the leash, he does very well with only minimal pulling.

More about this shelter

New Hope Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization servicing Volusia County Florida since 1955.
Our policy is no-kill. We will NOT euthanize an animal to make room or to reduce pet overpopulation. “adoptable” means an animal is healthy and well-adjusted, not ill or injured, and can be safely made available to the public for adoption. We reserve the right to refuse admission due to space availability, or if the animal is dangerous, in poor health, or otherwise deemed un-adoptable.
