DOG TEST: (Okay with Dogs) Ursula has met a dog at the shelter and still seems unsure of them, however she has been able to coexsist with them.
CAT TEST: (Okay with Cats) Ursula did okay meeting with a cat here, but would recommend supervision due to natural prey drive.
KID TEST: (Good with Older Kids) Ursula has a lot of energy and would do best with older kids that can keep up with her! HOUSE BROKEN: (Potty Trained) Ursula seems to be potty trained. ENERGY LEVEL: (High) Are you looking for a high energy dog to keep you on your toes? Ursala loves playing fetch nonstop and never gets tired of chasing after her toys. Ursala has a herding instinct and likes to hard our large soccer balls in the yard. Ursala loves to go outside for walks and would thrive in a home that can take her on tons of adeventures!
LEASH WALKING: (Good on Leash) Ursula tends to walk very well on a leash but can pull sometimes when she gets excited. KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit (Yes) Down (Yes) Stay (No) Shake (Yes) Drop (No)

Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
