Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Enchantress put a spell on us. It was love at first sight and woof. Someone tied her up outside of the shelter with a retractable leash. Enchantress chewed through that leash and was loose in our parking lot when we left for the night. She was scared but eventually let us get close enough to leash. From there on out it was all cuddles and kisses. Yes she is timid. Yes we had to carry her outside and back to her kennel. Yes she is worth it.
Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.
All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption.
All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).
We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
