My name is Joey!

Joey is an incredibly sweet, affectionate, and playful dog who loves to cuddle and make his people laugh. However, he is not a city dog—urban life truly overwhelms him. The constant noise, traffic, and commotion cause him significant fear and anxiety, which you can see in his body language: his tail tucks, he shakes, and he becomes visibly stressed even during short trips outside to use the bathroom. Joey has worked with professional trainers, a behaviorist, and is currently on medication to help manage his anxiety, but the environment remains too stimulating for him to feel secure.
He does have some aggressive tendencies, particularly when on leash or around unfamiliar dogs, though he adores his 11-year-old Lab mix sister and gets along wonderfully with her. Joey thrives when he has space to run freely—his true personality shines when he’s off leash in an open area, where he’s happy, goofy, and at ease.
