My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sandy – The Unstoppable Spirit on Three Legs
Female | Spayed | Fully Vaccinated
Sandy’s story began on the side of a road—hit by a car, both back legs crushed. One leg couldn’t be saved; the other healed with limited mobility but zero limits on her joy. This brave girl didn’t just survive—she thrives.
Now living in a bustling shelter with 40+ dogs, Sandy is the resident ray of sunshine: outgoing, playful, and always ready to explore. She’s adapted beautifully to life on three legs and greets every day with a wagging tail and a happy hop.
Sandy is:
• Dog-social – loves playtime and pack life
• Walk-ready – enjoys short, gentle strolls (perfect for city blocks or quiet parks)
• Weight-conscious – stays lean to protect her joints (easy with her love for play, not food obsession)
• Bed-snuggler – melts into soft, orthopedic dog beds (her favorite luxury)
• Crate-trained – settles calmly when needed
• Potty-trained – reliable in yard or on leash
Sandy doesn’t need pity—she needs a soft landing spot and a family who’ll keep her moving (lightly) and loved (heavily). Her noble heart and infectious cheer will fill your home with light.

We have adoption events each Saturday at Wet Noses Dry Paws in Tacoma (411 Fawcett Ave Tacoma) from 2-4. Not all dogs listed will be attending but it is a great time to come and socialize with them in a play setting.

More about this rescue

501c3 non-profit l est 2019 l

We have been fostering dogs since early 2019 through various rescues.

What better way to showcase them then in a playful, happy, loving environment with other loving dogs in our community.

Recently we have started changing things as we are looking for our pups to go into foster homes/foster to adopt.

We typically fly dogs in from over capacity shelters in Texas, drive puppers over from Yakima, and still have an amazing relationship with a partnering rescue in Mexico.
