Penny Lou is a petite, year-old sweetheart weighing about 10 pounds. With her slender build and long little legs, she’s as dainty as she is darling. Her breed is unknown.
This gentle girl wants nothing more than to be close to her person. She bonds deeply and loves attention, but she does need a bit of patience when meeting new people—she can be shy at first. Once she trusts you, she becomes a loyal little shadow who loves sitting beside you and happily chewing on a bully stick.
Penny Lou is good with other dogs, though she prefers to have the lap all to herself. She was surrendered after kids in the home weren’t kind to her, so she would do best in a calm, adult-only home. She is not good with cats.
She is kennel trained and has used potty pads. Since she just arrived, we’re still learning about her potty-training habits.
If you’re looking for a tender, loving companion who just wants a safe place to land and a person to adore, Penny Lou may be your girl. 💛

Our adoption process involves completing a one-page adoption application. Applications are processed within 48 hours.
Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $130.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $300.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
