My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buffy came to us from our shelter friends in Kentucky. She is 12 weeks old and looking for her forever home. She will be a medium to large sized dogs as we know their mom was a standard poodle and dad was a black lab. With that being said please keep that in mind when thinking about if you would like to adopt!
- She is not potty trained at this time. She was working on pee pad training and have started outside potty training recently. So adopters will be expected to be patient and consistent.
- Her first few days could be a little rough as it would be for most dogs, but thankfully she is in her own foster homes, working on crate training and building confidence.
- She is amazing with kids and anytime she sees a little friend her tail wags endlessly.
- She has met dogs of all different sizes and have done so well. She is confident, playful and though she doesn't need another dog in her household we want to ensure that her forever home continues to socialize her so she continues to stay this way!
- She will also require grooming and brushing so please make sure that time wise and financially this is something you have thought about.

She is currently being fostered in Chicago and accepting applications in or within 3 hours of Chicago. Her adoption fees include her age appropriate vaccines, spay, multiple rounds of dewormer, first round of prevention (flea, tick, and heartworm) and microchips. If you’re interested in learning more about her please apply directly www. chicagorescueauthority.org.

Additional adoption info

Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet’s permanent home. These steps ensure that we have all the information needed to make the best placement for you or your family.

More about this rescue

At Chicago Rescue Authority, our mission is to create a compassionate world where every animal is treated with love, respect, and dignity. We are dedicated to educating the public about the adverse realities of the mass-production industry for puppies, raising awareness about responsible pet adoption and ownership, and actively working towards reducing the overpopulation of dogs in shelters.

Our promise to Chicago is to build our rescue on the tenets of teamwork, education and compassion. We will listen to the concerns and ideas of those around us and be ready to grow alongside this rescue and this mission.

Volunteers, fosters, donors and adopters will be the backbone of this organization, just like every other animal welfare non-profit. We will be hosting a variety of fundraisers and mixers throughout the year aimed at building our support network. We can’t wait to meet all the animals whose lives we are going to change!
