Chloe is a 6-week-old Blue Heeler mix puppy who should be spending her days learning to play, explore, and soak up love — but instead, she’s fighting just to breathe.
This tiny sweetheart came to Denkai from a high-volume Houston shelter after landing on the euthanasia list. The moment she arrived, our team noticed troubling gurgling in her lungs, and we rushed her into treatment. She’s still struggling with her breathing today and is full of mucous, but she’s hanging in there.
Through all of this, Chloe remains exactly who she is at her core: pure sunshine in a tiny puppy body. She’s sweet, social, curious, and already showing that smart Heeler focus. She wants to thrive — she just needs the chance.
Thanks to an incredible foster (thank you, Cindy!), Chloe is now in a warm, loving home where she’s receiving round-the-clock care. Once she’s recovered and old enough, she’ll be spayed and ready for adoption at 8 weeks old. If you’d like to give her or one of her littermates a forever home, you can get started below.
But right now, this baby needs our community more than ever. Her medical care is already adding up, and we’re doing everything possible to give her the support, treatment, and comfort she deserves.
