My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS ADOPTION FEE SPECIAL: My adoption fee is only $50 during the month of December! Rowan is an active, cuddly pup looking for a fun forever home with at least one other playful dog! He has learned good house manners (except for the occasional stray shoe) and loves to find a toy to strut around the house to show off. He loves to play fetch and tug-a-war, but keep away is the best game of all. But when all the fun and games are over, he loves to curl up against (or on top of) another pup or human for a nap. Any kind of home that keeps him busy would be ideal; Hed love another canine companion and some kiddos to chase around (he's particularly fond of the child in his foster home!). Rowan loves to explore outdoors and would make an excellent hiking or camping buddy. Rowan wants to be friends with everyone he meets - humans, dogs, even horses! It doesnt matter! He just wants to make friends! He is a little weary of cats after a couple barn cats showed him what they think of his puppy energy in their territory, but still wants to be friends, just needs a friendly cat to show him how to play! In foster care, hes done great with potty training (has mastered the doggie door), and is working on basic commands like "Sit", Down, and "Leave it." He is doing well crate training (rests quietly through the night and goes to bed on command), but may do best in a home with someone who works from home. Hes fostered with adult dogs and a child. We think Rowan will end up being between 40-50 pounds full grown. Rowan has completed his vet care (neuter, vaccines, microchip). If you're interested in adopting, please submit an application at savedbyfate.org and we'll be in touch ASAP! A meet with any approved applicant's current pets and entire family will be required prior to starting the 2-week adoption trial period. Please visit our website savedbyfate.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Additional adoption info

SBF adoptions start off with a 2-week trial period to ensure that the SBF dog is a good fit for your family and current pets. The adoption fee is due the day an adopter starts the 2-week trial period. If the adoption does not work out within those two weeks, the adopter will be refunded all but a $50 donation, or they can put the fee towards another adoptable dog.

More about this rescue

Saved by Fate is a dog rescue organization in Central Kentucky that specializes in pulling dogs at high risk of euthanasia from Kentucky shelters. SBF was founded by Mara DeLaus and Ciara Hagedorn in 2022. After years of volunteering for a fellow organization, they saw a significant need for additional rescue resources in their area. SBF is an entirely foster and volunteer based organization that does not have a physical location or kennel at this time.
