Meet Harry!
This adorable 8 month old pup was living in a car with his mom and brother when their owner lost their housing. He's a little timid at first but a sweet playful puppy who warms up quickly and is a lot of fun. He loves other dogs and would love a more confident doggie brother or sister. His mom is a tiny 8lbs chihuahua believe it or not, and we are going to guess dad is a bigger maybe bully breed or terrier mix of some kind. Harry is about 13lbs and probably won't grow too much bigger. His mom has significant heart disease that is likely congenital and he does have a very mild heart murmur- he's getting more of a work up to see how significant it is but will need regular vet visits likely to monitor his progress as he ages. Our team will perform all relevant veterinary and landlord references and will call with the status of your application.or any questions.

Meet the Pet

Once your application is approved, our staff will call your family, and schedule a time for you to meet the animal of interest.

4.
Take the Pet Home

Once all family members meet with our team, and all agree to the match, you can take the animal home at that time.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

You will be sent the adoption paperwork, and further information that is needed to complete the adoption.

More about this shelter

Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. is founded on the belief that all animals have a natural right to humane treatment including proper care and safe shelter. Due to overpopulation, there are insufficient homes for most cats and dogs. Some are lucky enough to find temporary shelter and a few even find permanent homes. However it is a devastating fact that the majority are either euthanized or forced to chance life without shelter.

To support our belief and to relieve the unnecessary suffering of animals, we shall:
1.Extend every effort to find, evaluate, and secure good adoptive homes for animals in our care.
2.Provide animals with medical services and behavior therapy to the extent of our ability.
3.Adhere to a “no-kill” policy: animals shall not be euthanized for the purpose of providing space for new animals.
4.Adhere to a 100% spay and neuter policy.
5.Maintain continuing humane education programs and in particular to schools.
