My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Poe 🖤
6-month-old Lab Mix · Professional Cuddle Bug · Future Best Friend

Poe has had a rough start to life, but you’d never guess it from the way he shines. He is still taking plenty of naps throughout the day as he is in this period of recovery, but when he’s awake, he is pure joy — floppy ears, wagging tail, and the sweetest eyes you’ve ever seen.

This boy loves people. If you sit down, Poe will absolutely try to climb into your lap for snuggles. Gentle, affectionate, and eager to bond, he makes friends quickly and easily.

Poe is also great with other dogs — big, small, goofy, grumpy, you name it. He’s spent time in group play and always keeps the vibe friendly. He’s met and interacted with cats and did just fine. He adapts quickly to new environments and isn’t shy or nervous, just curious and happy to be included.

More about Poe:
• Good car rider
• Loves treats (and will work hard for them!)
• Doing well on a leash
• Currently working on kennel training
• Great for baths (the blow dryer is… a personal enemy, though)
• Sweet, silly, and so ready for his person

Poe is the kind of dog who just wants to love and be loved. He’s recovering, growing, and learning that the world can be a safe, soft place. With patience and a cozy home, this boy is going to absolutely blossom.

If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will melt into your arms, make you laugh daily, and bring warmth into your life, then Poe is your guy. 🧡

More about this rescue

A Lab for Life (ALL) provides a compassionate life-line to abandoned dogs that includes a safe haven, medical care by a licensed veterinarian, nutrition (food) and a fur-ever family through adoption. ALL promotes the humane treatment of animals in the community.

ALL was founded in July 2020 by a group of dog advocates in central Oklahoma and
Northeastern US after some had been volunteering with an out of state rescue for over 5 years. That experience solidified a local organization was needed. ALL formed to rescue as many stray, homeless and owner surrendered dogs as possible by partnering with many state-wide shelters and rescue operations. In addition to transferring homeless dogs from the shelters, fostering them in temporary homes and adopting them out, we also provide behavioral and medical resources to people who are considering surrendering their dog in an effort to keep the dog in their homes and out of the shelter/rescue system.
ALL operates under the 5 freedoms for animal welfare.
We are a brand new organization and welcome donations!
