My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are holding little Butterfinger tight and making sure he never ends up in the situation where animal control officers found him again! And where did they find him? On I-35 in the middle of the concrete construction barriers being squeezed against them and getting very painful thermal burns all on his back. He is currently with a medical foster who is tending to his wounds where the skin and fur were ripped away :( But the good news is that he is expected to fully recover AND even during all the painful moments, he still remained the sweetest boy! Butterfinger is young and has a full life ahead of him! Could you be the person to make this hurtful episode in his life a distant memory? To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

More about this rescue

Long Way Home was created to provide the last stop for animals displaced from their homes, deemed "unadoptable" by other rescues, or that need a level of care their previous owners or other shelters are unable or unwilling to provide.
