My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Winnie is a sweet girl who is in need of a new home. She is with our partner rescue in Louisiana and is heading to a NJ foster home on 1/10/26.

At just 7 months and 12 pounds, Winnie is the perfect mix of playful energy and cuddle-ready sweetness. This adorable dachshund mix lights up every room she walks into and hasn't met a person (or dog!) she doesn' adore.

Winnie loves playing with dogs of all sizes and would thrive in a home with a playful companion or an active family ready to include her in the fun. She's doing great with her housetraining and is learning to walk politely on a leash- just needs a little more practice to perfect her skills. She is still a puppy and full of curiosity and joy. She's affectionate, social and guaranteed to make you smile every day.

Winnie  is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $550.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

Additional adoption info

We require an application. After reviewing the application, your home sounds suitable for the personality of the animal you are looking for, then a home check and a meeting is set up. For our rescue animals an adoption donation is required. All our rescue animals are up to date on shots, heartworm tested or on preventative, dewormed frontlined and have a microchip.

More about this rescue

Wag On Inn Rescue, A NJ recognized 501(C)3 organization, located in Freehold, NJ, is a small group of dedicated volunteers, trying to rehome dogs and cats. We have a variety of animals looking for their forever home. The animals are worked with individually to be socialized with other animals and with people. Some of the dogs are obedience trained and housebroken. Special care is also taken in working with animals on basic house manners. We have two types of ways we help the animals. One is our rescue program, where we pull animals from shelters and they stay with us until adopted, we also have a "referal program" where we help owners of pets try to find them new homes. with this program, the pets stay with their owners until a new home is found, and adopted from the owner.
